Best Smartphones To Watch Out For In 2016

2015 is almost over and we are drawing nearer to 2016 so I feel it is right about now that I start giving you lists of phones that will launch in 2016, the features and specs of 2016 smartphones and the company that will launch them.
From what we have seen so far in 2015, it is obvious that one thing the whole phones have in common is getting smart, faster, thinner, stronger, sleeker etc, a colleague once joked that soon, we will have ATM sized smartphone.

Well,…. Enough of that, let me present what I have for you on this post.

1. Apple iPhone 7.

I know that many of you will scream wayo(partiality) if I failed to begin with Apple iphone 7 simply because it is both the king in hardware and software.

Judging by apple’s historical yearly debut schedule, the iPhone 7 will likely be announced by September. To far right? Well, it is still 2016.

The phone is rumored to launch without a home button and a headphone jack. Also, it is expected to sport what could be Apple’s next A10 chipset along with, of course, a new design, a better and possibly a new type of display, and complete waterproof protection and hopefully, a longer battery life.

2. Samsung Galaxy S7.

Usual and expected, Samsung is and has always been Apple’s closest rival.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be unveiled in February 2016. Rumor has is that Samsung will give it the edgiest design yet in smartphones.

The Galaxy S7 is rumored to have edged screens on all sides — left, right, up and down. My friend said that S7 will be like the product of Samsung and Apple’s one night stand. This is because Samsung is going to incorporate a touch sensitive 3D Touch-like feature in its next flagship. Let’s hope they don’t get sued again.

3. LG G5

LG is definitely going to surprise people with LG G5. They have good record spearheading the specs race in smartphones. Check out all the LG’s G lineup and you will see that they have long featured some of the best screens in the market.

So it is expected that the record continues in 2016. The rumors circulating in Tech news sites is that LG is rumored to have one of the first 4K equipped screens on a smartphone with its LG G5. In addition, the G5 is said to have an iris scanner when it’s finally released by the end of spring next year. So watch out.

4. Sony Xperia Z6

Sony had it rough in past years but that didn’t deter them. The company is expected to launch the Xperia Z6 with the build on this year’s Z5 Premium’s 4K screen with all the usual goodies like waterproofing, all-day battery, and others. The key feature to watch out for is the camera. Sony manufactures the cameras in today’s high-end devices including the iPhone, and the Xperia Z6’s camera should be an industry leader when we finally see it by September.

5. HTC One M10

HTC have also had it bad in the last few months so I am praying and hoping that they get back on track and do something unique instead of living in another smartphone’s shoes like the iPhone-clone A9.

HTC 2016 “One M10” is expected at the same time as the Galaxy S7 with an improved HTC’s Sense.

HTC’s sense has always been one of the Taiwanese company’s strengths and honestly If they can balance its OS with a more vanilla version of Android and create a truly unique, compelling design then believe you me that the company’s next smartphone could really be an “iPhone killer.” after all, Apple first copied from them.

6. Acer Predator 6

Acer Predator 6 is a flagship smartphone that is aimed at gamers. The Acer Predator 6 features a bright 6-inch screen and deca-core MediaTek processor. That is too much power.

There is 4GB of RAM in order to play console-style games when on the move.

Acer Predator features a 21MP camera on the rear, four speakers and haptic feedback when held in portrait mode to help simulate joypad controls on the touchscreen.

7. BlackBerry Vienna.

Oh yes! Blackberry is already working on Priv successor. The phone appeared recently, codenamed Vienna.

There’s little information on the Vienna so far, but it appears to be a candybar device, offering a fixed physical keyboard under the large display and will launch in February 2016.

8. Microsoft Surface Phone.

This device will likely bring the end of the Lumia line in 2016. The rumor has been around for long but it seems Microsoft will finally introduce its Surface line of phones in coming year.

This move by Microsoft is to make their smart phones align with the company’s other products such as the original Surface and Surface Book. Beyond the usual smartphone fare of upgraded specs, we’re hoping to see something only Microsoft can do on a smartphone as they’ve already done with their other Surface products.

9. Google Project Ara.

This project has been in the work for a while, is a gesture that will, instead of buying a completely brand new phone every year or so, Google’s Project Ara in 2016 may have us just buying separate components instead. In short, we’d be able to build our own smartphones as we please, upgrading the camera at one point and then maybe the display or processor sometime later, without having to replace the entire phone completely. In and out of the news for the past years. In 2016, we’re hoping to actually see something of it.

10. Apple iPhone 6C.

There has been rumors of an updated iPhone for some time now. The rumor was intensified by the discontinuance of iphone 5C sales.

The rumours suggest that Apple wants to replace it with iPhone 6c that might launch in early 2016.

The phone is expected to launch with some features from the 6, like Apple Pay support, as well as bring back the colourful bodywork, perhaps in metal this time.

Some say that Apple will take some cues from the latest iPod because it has the template for the new affordable iPhone and that may well be right.

We shall find out with time

11. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium.

There has been some speculation suggesting that Sony will also be releasing a Xperia Z5 Compact Premium in Japan.

The Xperia Z5 is rumoured to feature a 4.6-inch display with a Full HD resolution, which would already be a step up from the current Xperia Z5 Compact, and 4GB of RAM has also been suggested.

We are expecting a 23-megapixel rear snapper, 5-megapixel front snapper, 2900mAh battery and Snapdragon 810 processor.

A post on CNBeta suggests that the device would be available in October, but provided no details on pricing.

And that’s all for now.

Next, I will show you the list of available and soon to be available smartphones that will rock the first quota of 2016 so stay tuned.
