News: JAMB Releases Cut-off Mark for 2015/2016 Admission

The Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
released the cut-off mark to be used
for 2015/2016 admissions into
Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges
of Education. Candidates who are
seeking admission into tertiary
institutions and have sat for the 2015
UTME, are hereby notified.
In a statement made by the JAMB
registrar, Dibu Ojerinde, at a press
conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the
2015 JAMB cut-off mark for this year
for degree programmes (Universities)
is 180, and 150 for national certificate
in education (Colleges of Education),
national diploma (Polytechnics) and
national innovation diplomas.
Candidates should note that this is just
a guide for tertiary institutions to
follow. Even though JAMB has set the
cut-off for Universities to be 180, each
University can decide to whatever
mark they so choose – as long as it is
not less than 180. The same applied
for Polytechnics and colleges of
education. That is why you would see
Universities like UNIBEN, FUNAAB,
OAU and some other asking for 200
UTME score.
